When importing or exporting, from or to China, certain aspects must be considered.
It is important to have the necessary documentation to be able to enter / exit merchandise.
Here we share the list of documents that will be requested, with which we will gladly help you:
- Commercial invoice of the goods.
- Certificate of origin.
- Marking of the country of origin.
- Trademark and industrial property registration.
- Detailed packing list (content and type of goods).
- Transport documents according to route: Bill of lading (Maritime) / Airway bill (Air) / Carta Porte (Land).
- Insurance policy.
- Health or phytosanitary certificates when applicable.
- For food, have food sale and import registration with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China (AQSIQ).
- Register of sectorial exporters from Mexico. In the case of alcoholic beverages, energizers, cigarettes, iron minerals among others.
- Letter of instructions for Customs Agent.
- Unique customs declaration (DUA) made by the customs agent.
To avoid reprocessing, the packing list should be as detailed as possible. It is important to avoid the use of general descriptions such as “other” or “miscellaneous”, as they can lead to re-inspections by the authorities and unnecessary withholdings.
- Restrictions
- There are limiting guidelines for merchandise that can enter Asia and therefore China freely being the top import/export country in Asia.
- Special authorization and import permits and payment of differentiated taxes are required for products such as: Cigars, alcoholic beverages, cosmetics, gasoline and other merchandise that can be considered harmful to health or luxury.
- Within the category of prohibited objects, there are: Firearms, ammunition, gunpowder, drugs, narcotics, as well as any kind of written or audiovisual material that is considered harmful to Chinese politics or culture.
- Customs duties and fees are generally based on the full value of the cargo (approximately 13% to 17%). That is why you must have complete and detailed documentation so that the value is estimated with the greatest efficiency.
